Information: Selena is an adult female, although her exact age is unknown. At the time she was tagged she was circling another whale shark. A SPOT tag named “Boomer” by Dr. Rachel Graham was used to tag Selena, which will give the research team movement information helping them to understand her migration and behavior. “Boomer” is a very special tag as this is its fourth deployment. The tag was previously placed on whale sharks in Belize, Mozambique and the Gulf of Mexico.
Addendum: Selena's tag disconnected prematurely and was unable to provide us with her tracking information. Travel safely, Selena.
