Answer
The packages available through our site support shark research and conservation through the adoption of sharks that have already been tagged and named. You can learn more about these sharks on our Shark Tracking page. When our researchers tag a new shark, we offer a pre-adoption contest to name the new shark. Generally, the first thirty people to pre-adopt the newly tagged shark will be entered into a drawing to name the shark. Check out our Home and News pages for information about ongoing naming contests.
We do also offer the opportunity to sponsor your own tag and therefore name your own shark with contributions beginning at $2,000 US. Often, we find that this is an excellent exercise for corporate team-building programs and networking groups. Another idea is for people passionate about shark conservation to host a Shark Party for their friends and raise the funds to sponsor a shark as a group. If you are interested in sponsoring a shark tag, please email us for more information.
